enorme accueil, on s'est senti chez nous et après plus de 10 mois de voyage, ca fait vraiment du bien ! we decide now to write all the content in english because first is good for us, and because we put some 2 big stickers on the van. then people who don’t know us and who come to visit us. you can go further (only for australia for the moment, sorry. but you can see the picture : no language skills needed…) du 13/10/2009 au 10/11/2009 note de l etape : 7 acceder a l etape : sydney blue mountains australie after almost 1 month in sydney, time is come to try the van. but we do it with our team, just in case we have to push it to come back. blue montains is good introduction of how ausralia nature can be generous. from 2 hours of sydney, we feel in a green american farwest. sorry blue american farwest. according one of the many theories, this blue come from what the tree ban. blue mounains is huge space covered by eucalypsus trees and cut by cliffs. the first australian colons cross this dense forest in 25 years (and they believe that they can access china just behind...). but most of the danger here are away and everythings is made to do it relax. no map needeed, free bbq, nice tracks everywhere... we are pretty sure you can come every week end during 1 year without seeing half of this set up territory. but time is already come to say bye to our friend and to go in the west (australian this one) to do some money with frut picking... du 07/11/2009 au 10/11/2009 note de l etape : 7 acceder a l etape : blue mountains sydney cote sud australie the van is ready, now, let s see if it can bring us trough australia ; we decide to follow the coast in the south of sydney until melbourne, first step, jervis bay .jervis bay is maybe one of the most beautiful beach, white sand, emerald sea, stingray are swimming around you, it looks like a paradise. second step is batemans bay, it is quite hard to put your feet in the ocean, when you know the beach is called shark bay, never mind, let’s fight our fear and there are many children around us. cedric tried the short board for the first time; it is not going to be so easy to stand on it. but we have time and hope. we continue the road and stop in mimosa rock np, where we took a good dinner between a nice beach and a lake, this is the first time we met kangooroos, a family with babies in the belly pocket. du 11/11/2009 au 14/11/2009 note de l etape : 9 acceder a l etape : sydney cote sud snowy mountains australie anything great along the coast between sydney and melbourne is that you have the biggest mountain chain just in the middle. then you can compose an amazing trip with beautiful beaches and quit interesting break in the kosciusko national park. this park gets the mains skiing stations and is very well set up with trekking tracks. after a night in the free camping zone (you have to pay to enter in oz national park) where we meet 2 nice estonian guys, we decide to climb the biggest peak of the country. 2228 meters! maybe you, behind your french or nepalese screen are a bit wry but believe me, it was not so easy. 21 kilometers with a lot of snow (much more than in high part of tibet or ladakh when we were there), a lot of wind and even the temperature was not so bad, you are really cold. up fully our previous experience of mountain teaches us that you have to take care about mountain. even the one you consider like a promenade. in all case, we are proud to put that new mountain to the list of things we experience. beautiful and original landscape, great fauna (hundreds of different bird, you eat with kangaroo) and a nice example of nature arrangement. du 14/11/2009 au 16/11/2009 note de l etape : 8 acceder a l etape : snowy mountains melbourne - cote est australie after the mountains, go back to the coast. and not the less beautiful. the one from the bairnsdale to melbourne. we stop in a lot of place but the biggest step was on wilson promontory national park. the favorite of austrlian people. you can understand why ! we cross the peninsula in the center because it's really difficult for us to go to kangooroo island. too high price (300 $ with car). we visit goolwa beach, victor harbor wilunga and melingie on the alexandria lake. the 2 first are really popular destination for australian summer. du 30/11/2009 au 01/12/2009 note de l etape : 7 acceder a l etape : fleurieu peninsula and area adelaide australie adelaide was build during the same period as melbourne by a catholic society who don t wanted convicts. the first inhabitants was mainly poor english farmer who came to escape the famine. but adelaide is not only the city of church. it s an animaed city with lot of festival and cultural events !
